Dear All,

Hoping you’re all well, and enjoying the summer….

I’m inviting pupils old and new to an event I’m running at the end of September –  a taster or refresher session exploring ways of finding poise, better posture and balance. I have wanted to offer something at the beautiful venue of Llwyn Celyn* for a long time – the space and the surroundings, in the Llanthony valley really help you to feel at ease, and the session will be followed by coffee and cake!

I would be very grateful if you would share with anyone you think might be interested.

Alexander Technique – Introductory Course

Learn the skills to help you

  • Find a lightness and ease of movement
  • Relieve pain and tension
  • Improve your posture
  • Feel calmer and more balanced
  • Enhance your performance in acting, music or sport

A course of Alexander lessons has been found to significantly reduce the incidence of back and neck pain. The most recent trial, funded by Arthritis Research UK,  found that this benefit continued after the end of the research, as participants were able to use what they had learned to manage their neck pain more effectively. Improvements were also seen in their mental health.

Alexander Technique – for those with some experience

a 3 week course suitable for those who have had some experience of the Alexander Technique, and would like to explore the benefits in more depth.

This course will include individual work with the teacher focusing on your particular needs; developing the skills to use less effort in activity, and  move more easily, and time practising ‘semi supine’ / ‘active rest’. 4 participants only.
